Wedding Photography at Wildes Inn, Derbyshire
Wildes Inn is a stylish Derbyshire wedding venue in Clowne, near Chesterfield, offering indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, elegant reception areas and accommodation all within the same location.
Having photographed weddings at Wildes in different seasons, I know the venue well and how dramatically it can change throughout the year. My approach is mainly natural and documentary, capturing the ceremony, reactions, laughter, speeches and all the moments happening around you without constantly interrupting the day.
Alongside that candid coverage, I’ll normally take you away for a short portrait session and create a handful of more polished images using the venue and its grounds. I’ll guide you where necessary, but the aim is always to keep things relaxed and get you back to your wedding rather than turning the day into a photoshoot.
Wildes Inn Wedding Photography in Summer and Winter
One of the things I particularly enjoy about photographing weddings at Wildes is how differently the same locations can work depending on the season.
The photographs below were created in almost exactly the same place — one during the lighter summer months and another at a winter wedding after daylight had disappeared. Rather than treating darkness as a limitation, I used off-camera lighting to completely change the atmosphere and create a much more dramatic portrait.
SUMMER
WINTER
It is a good example of why I never rely on perfect weather, summer sunshine or a particular time of year to create great wedding photographs. Knowing the venue, understanding the light and being able to introduce professional lighting when needed means we can create something striking in July or January.
Most of your gallery will still be natural wedding photography, but I like to add a small number of these more creative portraits — a little bit of WOW alongside the real story of the day.
Wildes Inn Wedding Photography & Videography
You can book me for wedding photography, wedding videography, or combined photography and film coverage at Wildes Inn.
For combined packages I work with an experienced team so photography and video can be captured simultaneously without constantly repeating moments for different cameras. During the ceremony and speeches we can also use discreet audio equipment to capture the voices, reactions and atmosphere that bring the finished wedding film to life.
I’m based nearby in Nottinghamshire and have been photographing weddings for more than 15 years, covering Wildes and venues throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, the Midlands and South Yorkshire.
Please note that Wildes does not currently permit drone flights from the venue. As drone photography and video always require the appropriate venue permission, aerial coverage at Wildes would only be possible if that policy changed and permission was granted.
