Natural wedding photography and cinematic films at Swancar Farm Country House
Swancar Farm Country House is one of my most local wedding venues and somewhere I am always genuinely pleased to see appear in the diary.
I am based just around the corner in Cossall, near Junction 26 of the M1, and have photographed and filmed several weddings at Swancar Farm. I know the venue, its grounds and the way a wedding day naturally moves through its different spaces.
I provide Swancar Farm wedding photography, cinematic wedding videography, drone coverage where conditions allow, or a coordinated combination of all three.
My approach is predominantly relaxed and documentary-led. For most of the day, I capture the genuine reactions, conversations, laughter and emotional moments as they naturally happen. Alongside that, I create a small number of carefully guided portraits with a little extra “wow” — without turning your wedding into an endless photoshoot.
Callum and Emma’s Swancar Farm wedding
Above is a short film from a complete Swancar Farm wedding photography and videography commission.
It shows how the venue moves from the anticipation of the morning into the ceremony, drinks reception, portraits, speeches and evening celebrations.
More importantly, it demonstrates the balance I aim for throughout the day: predominantly natural coverage, with a small amount of guidance when it helps create something more polished.
Short highlights are useful, but I always encourage couples to ask to see complete delivered weddings before choosing a photographer or videographer. A portfolio should demonstrate consistency throughout an entire day, not just a small collection of the very best images gathered over several years.
I can provide complete Swancar Farm photography galleries and longer wedding films privately to couples considering booking.
Swancar Farm wedding photography and videography
Swancar Farm offers plenty of variety for both photography and film without needing to leave the venue.
The countryside setting, sweeping approach, traditional brickwork, courtyard, gardens and characterful interiors all provide different backdrops as the day unfolds. Because I already know the venue, I can quickly choose the best locations for the weather, light and time available without taking you away from your guests for too long.
For most of the day, our approach is relaxed and documentary-led. We capture the genuine reactions, conversations, laughter and emotional moments as they naturally happen, while working together as one coordinated photography and videography team.
Formal group photographs are kept organised and efficient. Before the wedding, we will agree a sensible list so that nobody spends the entire drinks reception waiting to be called into another photograph.
We will also take you away briefly for relaxed couple portraits. We normally begin by giving you a moment to walk, talk and enjoy a little time together after the ceremony. Once you have had that breathing space, I will introduce some gentle direction to help with positioning, movement and making the most of the surroundings.
Most couples are away from their guests for only around fifteen or twenty minutes.
Alongside the natural coverage, I also create a small number of more polished images with a little extra “wow”. These may involve careful composition, controlled posing or off-camera lighting, but they should never take over the day.
Photography preserves the individual expressions and decisive moments, while film captures the movement, voices and atmosphere around them. Professionally recorded vows and speeches can also become some of the most meaningful parts of the finished wedding film.
Because photography and videography are planned together, you will not be taken away for separate sessions or repeatedly asked to recreate the same moments for different cameras. We work around one shared plan, allowing you to enjoy the wedding while we document it naturally.
Depending on the package selected, your wedding media may include:
- Morning preparations and guest arrivals
- Ceremony photography and film
- Professionally recorded vows and speeches
- Confetti and family photographs
- Natural coverage of the drinks reception
- Relaxed and creatively guided couple portraits
- Speeches, evening celebrations and first dance
- At least 600 individually edited photographs
- A private online wedding gallery
- A cinematic highlights film
- A longer full-length wedding film
- Separate ceremony and speeches episodes
- Drone photography and video where permission, weather and airspace restrictions allow
All photography and film are personally edited by me, helping the finished collection feel like two complementary parts of the same story rather than unrelated work from separate suppliers.
