Norwood Park Wedding Photographer & Videographer
Natural, relaxed wedding photography and videography at Norwood Park, Southwell
If you’re planning your wedding at Norwood Park in Southwell, you’ve chosen one of Nottinghamshire’s most elegant countryside wedding venues. Set within beautiful private grounds, this historic Georgian country house offers the perfect mix of classic architecture, peaceful gardens, stylish interiors and space for a relaxed, personal wedding day.
Here's some wedding photos and film from a recent February wedding.
Bridal Prep at Norwood Park
As a Nottinghamshire wedding photographer and videographer, I love venues that allow the day to flow naturally — and Norwood Park is exactly that kind of setting. From morning preparations in the house, to emotional ceremonies, drinks on the lawn, relaxed portraits around the grounds and a full evening celebration, it gives you everything you need in one beautiful location.
My approach is simple: I capture the real story of your day without making it feel staged or awkward. Most of the coverage is natural, candid and documentary-led, so you can enjoy the day with your family and friends. Then, when the light and location are right, we’ll take a little time for a handful of beautiful portraits that feel polished without taking you away from your wedding for too long.
"Just Marrid" at Norwood Park
The wedding video and images featured on this page are from a recent February wedding my media team and I captured at Norwood Park. Bridal prep, the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast all took place at the beautiful Norwood Park, while the ceremony itself was held at a stunning church in Papplewick — beautiful, but definitely one of those venues that keeps you on your toes from a photography and video point of view. And we even got a performance from Nottingham and Derby based 'close-up magician' Paul Grunde (I highly recommend, I hired him for my own daughters wedding!)
The weather wasn’t on our side, but it never stopped play. Thanks to the elegant interior spaces at Norwood Park, we were still able to capture the handful of formal group photos the couple wanted with ease, using professional lighting to keep everything looking polished and consistent.
Initially, the couple weren’t especially interested in personal wedding portraits, but just before they were due to be announced into their wedding breakfast and speeches, I showed them a few of the internal “wow shots” I’d previously created at the venue and persuaded them to give me just five minutes. I positioned them by one of the windows for soft, moody light — which also conveniently helped hide the remains of bridal prep from earlier in the day — and simply asked them to chat to each other. After a few minutes, they turned to me and said, “Ok Paul, what do you want us to do?” I replied, “We’ve already done it.” Sometimes being a little bit sneaky is exactly how you capture the most natural moments.
One of my favourite parts of the day was racing ahead of the couple after the church ceremony to get back to Norwood Park before they arrived, so we could capture them pulling up in the groom’s Audi RS5 — a car he was particularly fond of. That detail even inspired the bespoke wedding music I wrote for this part of their film. We also managed to capture the car’s arrival by drone, giving their wedding video a really cinematic opening and a personal touch that felt completely unique to them.
Wedding photography at Norwood Park
Norwood Park is full of opportunities for timeless wedding photographs. The Georgian house gives a grand, elegant backdrop, while the gardens and surrounding parkland are ideal for natural couple portraits, relaxed group photos and those quieter moments together after the ceremony.
Whether you’re planning an outdoor summer wedding, a stylish indoor celebration, or a full weekend wedding with guests staying on site, Norwood Park works beautifully for photography. The variety of spaces means your final gallery can feel rich and varied, with a mix of candid moments, family connections, venue details and standout portraits.
I’ll always help guide you through the timings so the photography fits naturally into the day. That means making sure we allow enough time for family photos and couple portraits, while still keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable.
A relaxed approach to your wedding day
After more than 15 years working at weddings, I know how important it is for the day to feel smooth, calm and enjoyable. Wedding photography and videography should add to the experience, not take over.
Before the day, we’ll talk through your timings, key moments, family group list, ceremony plans, speeches and any specific shots you’d love. I’ll also help advise on the best times of day for portraits, where we can keep things efficient, and how to make sure you get the coverage you want without feeling like the day has become one long photoshoot.
